Tim Sylvester
Coach

Bio
Tim Sylvester is a 4th-degree black belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. He began training in 2003 in Philadelphia under Regis Lebre, receiving his black belt in 2010.
His accomplishments include:
- Silver and Bronze medals in multiple Pan American Games.
- A Bronze medal in the 2006 Mundial (World Championships).
- 8 professional Cage fights.
Tim's classes heavily emphasize basic movements and techniques. This approach enables students to adapt their skill set across multiple rule sets, whether in competition, cage fighting, or self-defense, without relying on any particular one. Rather than addressing complex problems with increasing complexity, simplicity is emphasized in both technical and strategic applications.
To complement his Jiu-Jitsu, Tim also has over 15 years of experience in Muay Thai. He applies different rulesets during his classes to encourage students to avoid being locked into one particular strategy or style.
