Yusuf Yilmaz

Coach Yusuf Yilmaz brings both competitive experience and a relatable, athlete-centered approach to the mat. A two-time New Jersey State Qualifier, Yusuf earned a 2nd place finish at Region 8 in 2017 and was a District Champion that same year. He also placed 3rd in Region 8 and 3rd at Districts in 2016, while earning multiple tournament honors including two Arthur Marinelli Championships and a 3rd place finish at the Neptune Classic.

Yusuf began wrestling in 7th grade, giving him a unique perspective on what it means to start the sport later than many of his peers. This experience shapes his coaching philosophy—he believes that success in wrestling is possible no matter when an athlete begins, as long as they commit to the process.

As a coach, Yusuf emphasizes patience, discipline, and steady development. He is dedicated to creating a positive and safe training environment where athletes can grow with confidence, guided by coaches who prioritize their well-being both on and off the mat.
